Stephen Curry is superhuman. The Golden State Warriors star has unbelievable ability on the court and is widely recognized as one of the best pure shooters in the history of the league. But what happened earlier this week was a rare reminder that Stephen Curry is actually mortal.
During the Golden State Warriors’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center on Monday, January 21, Curry had a breakaway opportunity.
Unfortunately, things did not go as he planned.
As Curry went to plant his foot, he slipped and fell flat on his back. Curry did recover, however, and ended up having the ball back in his hands. That also went terribly wrong, with Curry tossing up a rare airball.
Curry discussed the blooper on the Late Late Show with James Corden.
“What had happened was, the L.A. Kings had a game right before us and they must not have put the floor back on top of the ice all the way because there was a little wet spot right there,” Curry joked. “In my head, I knew I was about to do some crazy 360-dunk that I’ve never done in my life… It just didn’t happen.”
As for the airball: “I was a little dizzy.”
