Jakharr Williams has been identified as the 19-year-old suspect who allegedly shot and killed a teenager at Orland Square Mall in Orland Park, Illinois.
What Happened?
According to the Orland Park police department, an arrest warrant has been issued for Williams, who investigators believe is responsible for the fatal shooting at Orland Square Mall on Monday, January 21.
The victim was later identified as 18-year-old Javon Britten of Richton Park, who police say knew Williams prior to the shooting. In addition to Britten, police said that an innocent bystander suffered a graze wound and was taken to a hospital in La Grange, Illinois, for treatment.
Williams, of the 600 block of Madisen Lane in University Park, should be considered “armed and dangerous”, according to police.
Police say that Williams was last seen fleeing the mall on foot on Monday and remained at large as of Tuesday, January 22.

Officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting inside Orland Square Mall, located at 288 Orland Square Drive, at around 6:45 p.m., Orland Park police said in a statement.
The victim was shot near the food court and collapsed outside an H&M clothing store, Orland Park Deputy Police Chief Joseph Mitchell said. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office later identified the victim as Javon Britten, of the 22900 block of Millard Avenue in Richton Park. Witnesses told police that two males were involved in an altercation when one of them pulled out a handgun and opened fire, striking the other multiple times.
