Tony Romo is arguably the best analyst in the NFL today, and he has been a rising star on CBS. The network has been paying attention to the high praise that the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback has been receiving and that could parlay into a bigger payday for the rising analyst.

After Romo’s rockstar performance in the AFC Championship between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs where he predicted virtually every key play on Tom Brady’s late-game drives, CBS is reportedly considering a pay raise for Romo.

Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported the news.

That is great news for Romo, considering he is already pulling in $4 million a year from CBS. If he gets a big raise, he is undoubtedly the NFL’s voice of the future and it will be hard for anyone to pry him away from CBS.

From the report:

In terms of TV, this will be the Tony Romo Super Bowl on CBS. And CBS wants to make sure it is the first of many. Romo’s contract is up after next season, which could set up a multimillion-dollar TV free-agent sweepstakes for his services at this time next year. Before that can happen, CBS is prepared to give Romo a substantial raise from, according to sources, the $4 million range that he currently makes. Next year is the final season of his three-year contract. It is hard to see how he does not become the highest-paid NFL TV analyst.

Romo’s next assignment will be Super Bowl 53 so NFL fans across the league will get to hear him on the biggest stage.

Super Bowl 53 takes place on Feb. 3, 2019, in Atlanta, Georgia. This year’s Super Bowl and halftime show — which will by performed by Maroon 5 and some select guests — will air on CBS. Bring on Romomania.
