WATCH: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 Official Trailer #1 (VIDEO)

After almost two years of waiting, Game Of Thrones fans have their first look at the eighth and final season of HBO’s epic fantasy drama, as Home Box Office finally dropped the first teaser trailer in unison with the season three premiere of True Detective.

In addition to the first trailer, the premiere date of Game Of Thrones season 8 was confirmed to be Sunday, April 14, at 9 p.m. EST.

Game Of Thrones eighth and final season, which premieres on Sunday, April 14, will consist of six episodes that are each reportedly over 80 minutes in length.

Richard Plepler, the Chief Executive Officer of HBO, recently compared the final season to “watching six movies.” Additionally, Kit Harington — the lead star of the show — said that “the last season of Thrones seemed to be designed to break us.”

The final season of Game Of Thrones  stars Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister,, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Kit Harington as Jon Snow, Liam Cunningham as Davos Seaworth, Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy, Nathalie Emmanuel as Missandei, Gwendoline Christie as Brienne of Tarth, John Bradley as Samwell Tarly, Isaac Hempstead Wright as Bran Stark, Hannah Murray as Gilly, Rory McCann as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane, Iain Glen as Jorah Mormont, Conleth Hill as Varys, Carice van Houten as Melisandre, Jerome Flynn as Bronn, and Joe Dempsie as Gendry.
