Did Rae Sremmurd break up? After a series of tweets from Slim Jxmmi, fans were left wondering whether he and Swae Lee have parted ways. Jxmmi sent out multiple tweets implying the hip hop duo have split but they have since been deleted.

“I’m not Rae Sremmurd I’m slim jxmmi and ima sink or swim by myself,” Slim Jxmmi said in a since-deleted message. “Y’all still got ya mans swae y’all a be skraight.”

He added: “Not SremmLife. Y’all won it’s a wrap.”

Last year, the duo teamed up for SR3MM which included debut solo albums from both Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee.

However, Swae Lee has been getting more exposure lately and working on more prominent collaborations. There’s also the fact that Mike WiLL Made It said that another solo Swae Lee album is on the way, so that could have been a breaking point for the two brothers.

Slim Jxmmi, born Aaquil Iben Shamon Brown, is the older brother of Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown (Swae Lee). The two were born in Inglewood, California and eventually began their journey into music when they moved to Tupelo, Mississippi.

As a duo, Rae Sremmurd has created hits like “Black Beatles, “No Type”, “No Flex Zone” and “Swang” during their time together with Mike WiLL Made It’s EarDrummers label and Interscope Records.

The group recently opened for Childish Gambino on the “This Is America” tour and was set to headline #Number Fest later this year in Ohio while also appearing at a number of other music festivals. We will have to see whether the cryptic tweets lead to an actual breakup and what will happen to their future bookings if Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee ultimately decide to part ways.
