Given that HBO has STILL yet to release a full trailer for the final season of Game Of Thrones, fans are clamoring for information from any source they can get, whether that be interviews with cast members, producers, or television executives.

Now, while most of the interviews amount to generic quotes that provide little detail, the most recent interview with Kit Harington, the actor who plays the now-iconic Jon Snow, offered some insight into the intensity and potential sadness of the final season.

Speaking to GQ Australia, Harington tellingly said that “last season of Thrones seemed to be designed to break us.”

via GQ Australia:

“The last season of Thrones seemed to be designed to break us,” Harington said.

“Everyone was broken at the end. I don’t know if we were crying because we were sad it was ending or if we were crying because it was so f*cking tiring. We were sleep deprived. It was like it was designed to make you think, ‘Right, I’m f*cking sick of this.’ I remember everyone walking around towards the end going, ‘I’ve had enough now. I love this, it’s been the best thing in my life, I’ll miss it one day – but I’m done.’”

As for what Harington means by this, it’s probably two-fold:

A) The cast and crew are physically exhausted from the conditions of the shoot, which leads us to believe there will be battles and action galore.

B) The cast and crew are mentally and emotionally exhausted from how utterly devastating and heartbreaking the final season is.

Either way, both outcomes result in fireworks for the fans.

Harington isn’t the only one giving juicy interviews, as Richard Plepler, the Chief Executive Officer of HBO, recently compared the final season to “watching six movies.”

Similarly, series co-creator D.B. Weiss expanded on the relationship between Daenerys and Jon in the upcoming six episodes, saying that the revelation that Jon has a legitimate claim to the Iron Throne “makes things interesting” from a dramatic standpoint because “the story is no longer about who Jon’s parents are, it’s about what happens when Jon finds out.”

While Game Of Thrones highly-anticipated eighth and final seasonwill premiere in April 2019, the exact release date has yet to be announced at this time.
