A Seattle man accused of killing his brother has been charged with murder after he allegedly drove a four-foot-long sword through the victim’s head–because he thought he was a lizard person.
“God told me he was a lizard.” Buckey Wolfe told 911 dispatchers, according to charging documents.
Buckey Wolfe, who prosecutors said appears to be mentally ill, called 911 around 6:40 P.M on Sunday, January 6. Wolfe told an operator that he had killed his brother and that he thought he was a lizard, according to The Seattle Times.
Wolfe, 26, was then charged with the second-degree murder of his brother James Wolfe and ordered held without bail after prosecutors argued he was “severely mentally ill” and a danger to the community.
“The defendant’s actions–jamming the tang end of a four-foot long sharpened mental-bladed sword-like instrument completely through the victim’s head and killing him–demonstrate the danger he poses,” Senior Deputy Prosecutor Scott O’Toole wrote in charging documents obtained by the paper.
James Wolfe was found dead by Seattle police, with the weapon “still protruding from his head.”
When Buckey Wolfe was taken to Seattle Police Headquarters he informed detectives their eyes were changing.
According to authorities, Wolfe appeared to be hallucinating, telling detectives who interviewed him that he could see lizards in the interrogation room. He also claimed to have schizophrenia.
“Kill me, kill me, I can’t live in this reality,” he told investigators.
Citing allegedly mental health issues and the violence of the crime, Judge Arthur Chapman set bail at $1 million, according to KIRO.
Who Is Buckey Wolfe?
Buckey Wolfe is a 26-year-old man in Seattle, Washington who claimed his brother James is a lizard person and killed him.
On his Facebook page, Wolfe posted often and militantly about Christianity and President Trump. He also described himself as a member of the Proud Boys and a believer of QAnon, in which the theorists believe the U.S. government and others are plotting schemes against the Trump administration and its supporters. According to Buzzfeed News, some QAnon supporters believe the global elites they loathe are, in fact, lizard people.
Proud Boys, which is identified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, is a men-only organization known to encourage political violence.
Wolfe had been on the radar of WANaziWatch, which monitors neo-Nazis throughout Washington state after the group found Wolfe’s social media posts about white nationalism and the Proud Boys.
“I’m a proud Western Chauvinist and I refuse to apologize for creating the modern world. Uhuru!!!” Wolfe posted to Facebook in February 2018, referencing a Proud Boys initiation pledge.
However, Proud Boys posted a statement in their online magazine denying that Wolfe was a member: “Buckey had been to some of the same rallies and events that Proud Boys were at, but after learning of his paranoia and mental instability the Seattle chapter steered clear of him.”
