MacKenzie Bezos is the ex-wife of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. The couple was married for 25 years before it was announced that the two were set to split. Jeff Bezos confirmed the surprising news in a statement on his official Twitter account.
“After a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends,” the statement read. “We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for every one of the years we have been married to each other. If we had known we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again.”
Immediately after their split, people began to wonder just how much of the Amazon CEO’s fortune would go to his ex-wife.

Because the couple is filing for divorce in Washington, a state where community property rules, MacKenzie is legally entitled to all earnings and income during their marriage 50/50. That means McKenzie is in line for half of Jeff’s $137 billion fortune. The couple did not have a prenuptial agreement.
