Lauren Sanchez, a former news anchor and helicopter pilot, is allegedly in the middle of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ divorce with his wife of 25 years, novelist MacKenzie Bezos. According to a report from the National Enquirer, Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have been dating since June. Sanchez, who formerly was the anchor of Fox 11’s Good Day LA, is currently married.
The report claims Bezos “has been whisking his mistress off to exotic destinations on his $65 million private jet, sending her raunchy messages and erotic selfies — including one steamy picture too explicit to print here — and having secret rendezvous at palatial private estates.”
Bezos and Sanchez were allegedly followed across five states that detailed their affair which included at least six rendezvous in 14 days.
Bezos and MacKenzie Bezos announced their divorce on Wednesday, January 9.
“We want to make people aware of a development in our lives. As our family and close friends know, after a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends,” the billionaire tweeted.
However, the National Enquirer says the announcement came only after Bezos realized his private love affair was about to be revealed.
