Lindsey Lewis has been identified as the 36-year-old Jefferson County Public Schools teacher who was recently arrested for giving marijuana and alcohol to underage minors at a party.

According to Renee Murphy, a spokesperson for the Jefferson County Public Schools system, Lewis, a special education teacher at the Phoenix School of Discovery that employed with the district since 2016, was arrested on the morning of Tuesday, January 1, after officers broke up a New Year’s Eve party involving several teenagers at her home.

Police were originally alerted by a neighbor, who called to report that there were “several teenagers” driving to and from a party at Lewis’ home, tearing up the neighbors’ property in the process.

The arrest report says that police were called to the home in the 300 block of Boaz Lane, in Mount Washington, Kentucky, around 1 a.m. local time, where they found 40 people at the party, 14 of whom were underage. Additionally, the arrest report says that responding officers could smell marijuana and could see alcohol throughout the home.

Police say some juveniles attempted to leave before eventually admitting to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana at the party.

After the Mount Washington Police Department arrived, Lewis was arrested and taken to the Bullitt County Detention Center, where she was charged with 14 counts of engaging in an unlawful transaction with a minor.
