Sometimes, there are certain entries into the pop cultural zeitgeist that pass over fandom and into common knowledge. Shows such as The Sopranos, LOST, and Breaking Bad are previous examples of this phenomenon, as they reached such a high level of popularity that it almost became abnormal to not watch them.
Well, it’s safe to say as it heads into it’s eighth and final season, that HBO’s Game Of Thrones has hit those same great heights of success.
In fact, Game Of Thrones has become such a massive, global, cultural phenomenon that the creators are having to essentially invent new ways to prevent spoilers from leaking.
Iain Glen, the actor who plays Jorah Mormont on the HBO series, detailed some of those security measures that HBO and Game Of Thrones have been forced to take.
According to Glen, security measures on the show were so tight that none of the cast was given an actual hardcopy of the script.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live’s Nihal Arthanayake, Glen described the table read for Game of Thrones’ final season, which saw more than 100 cast and crew gather together to read through the scripts for all six episodes.
“This season was the first ever that we sat and read the entire arc of the story from beginning to end right through over the course of a day. They’re absolutely paranoid now about anyone finding out anything about the series and spoiling it,” he said.
“Kit [Harington – who plays Jon Snow], if he wasn’t lying, had not read it, so he was reading it on that day for the first time.”

Game Of Thrones assuredly epic eighth and final season will premiere in April 2019. The exact release date has yet to be announced at this time.
