Naomi Scott, born on May 6, 1993, in London, is an English actress and singer who is best known for starring as the Pink Ranger in the 2017 live-action version of Power Rangers and as Jasmine in the 2019 live-action remake of Disney’s Aladdin.
In addition to starring in Power Rangers and Aladdin, Scott will star in the Elizabeth Banks-directed 2019 reboot of Charlie’s Angels alongside Kristen Stewart and Ella Balinska.
On Wednesday, December 19, Disney and Entertainment Weekly released the first images of Scott portraying Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, alongside of Will Smith, who will be portraying the iconic Genie, and Mena Massoud, who will be playing the titular Aladdin.
Aladdin, which is directed by Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie, will be released in theaters in the United States on May 24, 2019. It is just the latest in a long line of Disney’s live-action remakes, following the likes of Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Alice Through The Looking Glass, Beauty and the Beast, and Christopher Robin.
In addition to Aladdin, 2019 will see the release of live-action versions of Dumbo, The Lion King, and Lady and the Tramp.
