Constance “Connie” Britton, born March 6, 1967, in Boston, Massachusettes, is an American actress who is best known for her roles as Nikki Faber on the ABC sitcom Spin City and Tami Taylor on the NBC drama series Friday Night Lights.
In addition to her roles on Spin City and Friday Night Lights, Britton is known for her roles as country singer Rayna Jaymes in the ABC/CMT musical drama series Nashville and as Vivien Harmon in the first season of FX horror-drama series American Horror Story.
Britton, who was born in Boston to Linda Jane and Edgar Allen Womack on March 6, 1967, grew up in Rockville, Maryland.
Britton graduated from E.C. Glass High School before she went on to major in Asian studies with a concentration in Chinese at Dartmouth College.
After her graduation from Dartmouth, Britton acted in off-Broadway theatre productions before making her feature film debut in the 1995 Edward Burns’ comedy-drama The Brothers McMullen. Following that role, Britton was cast as Heather in a recurring role in the ABC sitcom Ellen.
