One of the country’s longest-running Christmas season traditions is tonight, as the massive Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center in New York City is going to be lit up for the 86th time.
The ceremony, which kicks off at 8 p.m. EST, will be hosted by NBC stalwarts Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker, and Craig Morgan, and will include performances by Dianna Ross, John Legend, Martina McBride, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Kellie Pickler, Pentatonix, Brett Eldredge, and Darci Lynne.
In addition to the main ceremony, a special pre-show hosted by Mario Lopez, Stefan Holt, and Natalie Pasquarella will kick off at 7 p.m. EST. Security at the highly-public New York City event is reportedly through the roof.
The 2018 tree is a 12-ton, 72-foot tall Norway Spruce tree from Wallkill, New York.
