UFC 233 is shaping up to be a huge event for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The pay-per-view, which takes place at Anaheim’s Honda Center, has already announced a number of high-profile bouts which include a headlining belt for the flyweight championship. In the main event bout, flyweight titleholder Henry Cejudo is set to face off against bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, who will be moving down to 125-pounds.
The flyweight championship main event comes amid rumors that the UFC had plans to scrap the division altogether. It remains to be seen what the plan is at 125-pounds, but for now fans will be treated to a champion vs. champion bout.
The event also features the debut of former ONE Championship and Bellator MMA titleholder Ben Askren, who will be facing former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler.
Other bouts included at this time are Islam Makhachev vs. Francisco Trinaldo, Paul Felder vs. James Vick, Yana Kunitskaya vs. Marion Reneau, and Joanne Calderwood vs. Ariane Lipski.
Additional bouts will be added in the coming weeks.
