Katherine Waterston is an American actress who is best known for her starring roles in films such as Michael Clayton, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Alien: Covenant, Steve Jobs, Inherent Vice, Logan Lucky, and Mid90s.
Waterson, who was born on March 3, 1980, in Westminster, London, is the daughter of Academy Award-nominated actor Sam Waterson, who is best known for portraying Jack McCoy on Law & Order.
Waterson began acting in 2007 when she had a small role in the George Clooney-starring drama film Micheal Clayton.
From 2007 to 2014, Waterson appeared in projects such as Robot & Frank, Being Flynn, The Letter, The Factory, Night Moves, and more, before landing her breakthrough role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Joaquin Phoenix-starring Inherent Vice. Additionally, Waterson had a five-episode arc on the hit HBO drama Boardwalk Empire.
After her star turn in Inherent Vice, Waterson began appearing in major motion pictures such as Steve Jobs, Alien: Covenant, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, and Logan Lucky.
In 2018, Waterson appeared in Jonah Hill’s directorial debut Mid90s and the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
