Eliza Scanlen, born in Sydney, Australia on January 6, 1999, is an Australian actress who is best known for her role as Amma Crellin in the HBO limited series Sharp Objects. Scanlan portrays Amma Crellin, the half-sister of Amy Adam’s Camille Preaker.
Scanlen, who is one of two twins, began acting when she was young and landed her breakout role on Home and Away — an Australian soap opera that stars like Naomi Watts, Chris Hemsworth, and Isla Fisher have appeared on — when she was in high school.
To date, her most notable role is alongside Amy Adams in the HBO miniseries Sharp Objects. Her film debut will come in 2019 when she stars in the Greta Gerwig-directed film Little Women. Scanlen joins a loaded Little Women cast, that includes the likes of Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern, Bob Odenkirk, Chris Cooper, and Meryl Streep. The film marks the eighth adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel 1868 novel of the same name.
In addition to em>Little Women and Sharp Objects, Scanlen has appeared in the television series A Class Act, and the short films Lacuna, Grace, and Love and Other Places during her professional acting career.
