Sarah Parker is the girlfriend of Logan Kyle, a soldier based in Louisiana who was arrested after his wife’s body was found in the trunk of the car. Parker, 24-years-old, was driving the car, which included Parker’s 1-and 2-year-old children.
According to police, the 24-year-old Sarah Parker of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was arrested on charges of obstructing justice and failing to report a homicide. The 22-year-old Kyle was taken into the custody of Army investigators at the Fort Polk military base.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that Parker’s children were taken into state custody on the night of Saturday, October 20. Parker’s bond is still pending at this time.
Fort Polk base spokeswoman Kimberly Reischling said that Kyle — who has been in the Army for four years and stationed at Fort Polk two — was in of military officials at the base. Additionally, Reischling said that they cannot release the name of Kyle’s wife immediately because Army regulations require a 24-hour wait after notifying next of kin.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso said that Kyle confessed to killing his wife while at Fort Polk.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Monday that somebody who had been told about the body called the sheriff’s office to say a woman was driving around with a body in her trunk. Deputies stopped Parker’s car about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Detectives learned that Kyle killed the woman at Fort Polk, and that Parker knew about the killing and was trying to help him hide and get rid of the body, the news release said.
Myers said bond has not been set for Parker, and she did not know whether Parker has an attorney.
Police believe that Parker and Kyle were trying to find somewhere to dump Kyle’s wife’s body, saying “in many cases, we [police] don’t get a call until the body is actually found,” but in this case they “actually got this one before it was dumped which made it easier.”
