Jessica Ofelia Mendoza is a former softball player and current sports broadcaster who features as a baseball analyst for ESPN.

Born on November 11, 1980, Mendoza attended Stanford University, where she was a four-time First Team All-American outfielder and a member of the United States women’s national softball team from 2004 to 2010.

While a part of the United States women’s national softball team, Mendoza won a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens and a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Following her softball career with the United States women’s national softball team, Mendoza began working for ESPN as a baseball analyst. During her time at ESPN, Mendoza has worked as a color analyst on Sunday Night Baseball telecasts. In addition, she is an analyst for the Women’s College World Series and a sideline reporter for college football coverage on ESPNU.

In 2015, Mendoza became the first female broadcaster in the booth for ESPN’s College World Series. Also in 2015, Mendoza became the first female commentator in MLB postseason history when she called the 2015 American League Wild Card Game.

Mendoza was a key part of ESPN’s coverage of the 2018 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers.
