Kate Moss, born January 16, 1974, in, Croydon, United Kingdom, is one of the most successful and recognizable supermodels in the world.
Moss first burst onto the fashion scene in the late 80’s when she was discovered at age 14 by Sarah Doukas –the founder of Storm Model Management — at JFK Airport in New York City.
Most notably, Moss famously modeled in various campaigns for Calvin Klien in what was known as the “heroin chic” era of fashion. Heroin chic was a look popularized in mid-1990s fashion and characterized by pale skin, dark circles underneath the eyes, very skinny body, dark red lipstick, and angular bone structure.
In the early 2000’s, drug use allegations caused Moss to be dropped by the likes of H&M and Chanel. However, in 2006, Moss was cleared of all drug charges due to a lack of evidence and resumed her modeling career.
During her illustrious modeling career, Moss has worked for brands such as Chanel, Balenciaga, Burberry, Stuart Weitzman, Versace, rag & bone, Alexander Wang, David Yurman, Givenchy, Roberto Cavalli, Kerastase, Isabel Marant, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen, Equipment, Rimmel and Bulgari.
