Fan Bingbing is a Chinese actress, model, and pop star, who became recognized by American audiences after her appearance as Blink in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Bingbing is one of the most prominent actresses in China, starring in films such as Cell Phone (the highest-grossing Chinese movie of 2003) Lost in Beijing (2007), Buddha Mountain (2011), Double Xposure (2012) and I Am Not Madame Bovary (2016)
In 2019, Bingbing will appear in the movie 355 alongside Jessica Chastain, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, and Lupita Nyongo. Additionally in 2019, Bingbing will star in Cell Phone 2 — a sequel to her 2003 breakout film.
Due to her success in Eastern markets, Bingbing is one of the highest-paid actresses in the world. However, in 2018, Bingbing was presumed missing for nearly three months due to allegations of tax evasion. Bingbing’s tax evasion scandal caused the Chinese government to warn the country’s entertainment companies and top-earning celebrities to re-examine their taxes dating back to 2016.
Prior to her career as an internationally known actress and fashion icon, Bingbing was born in Qingdao, China, and graduated from Shanghai Xie Jin Film and Television Art College and Shanghai Theatre Academy.
