Tyress Williams, 19, has been arrested in connection to the burglaries of a number of celebrities, including Rihanna and Los Angeles Dodgers star Yasiel Puig.

According to reports, Williams was arrested for his suspected role in the burglaries of Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, Los Angeles Rams receiver Robert Woods, singer Rihanna, and singer Christina Milian.

Williams was reportedly pulled over by police on Friday, September 28, and found to have stolen items matching the description of items taken in the burglaries in his vehicle.

The Los Angeles Police Department suspect that Williams deliberately targeted athletes at times they would be away from their homes.

Woods was playing in a game against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday when police received a call about a break-in at his home on Mariano Street about 7:20 p.m. Thursday. Police found the rear sliding glass door of the house had been smashed and the residence had been ransacked. A review of security surveillance video showed three hooded suspects with their faces covered going through the home.

After determining that Williams was a suspect in the Woods burglary and making an arrest about 11:30 p.m., a search of his vehicle yielded several items alleged to have been taken from the homes of Puig, and actress-singers Rihanna and Milian, according to the source. Records show Williams was formally booked shortly after midnight into an LAPD jail on suspicion of residential burglary. He listed his job as a landscaper.

Capt. Lillian Carranza, whose detectives at LAPD’s commercial crimes division have been investigating the string of celebrity burglaries, is slated to hold a news conference at police headquarters in downtown Los Angeles announcing details off Williams’ arrest Tuesday afternoon.

Charges were filed against Williams on Tuesday, October 2.
