Brett Kavanaugh has faced plenty of objection to his nomination to the Supreme Court, but ahead of Thursday’s Senate hearing about the sexual misconduct allegations against the judge, hundreds of students have been bussed to Washington, D.C. to show their support for his nomination.

Liberty University sent more than 300 students to the nation’s capital to rally in support of Kavanaugh before one of his accusers, Christine Blasey, testifies in front of the Senate Judiciary committee.

This comes days after a group of students at Yale forced classes to shut down after a sit-in to protest Kavanaugh’s nomination.

Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. supported his students’ decision to head to Washington for the rally which will serve as a counterprotest against students from Yale, Kavanaugh’s alma mater. Videos and photos of the support for Kavanaugh — which was sponsored by the Christian organization Concerned Women for America — have been surfacing on social media throughout the morning.

“We have heard from many of you that you want to support Judge Kavanaugh in the face of these accusations. Please join Concerned Women for America on Capitol Hill this Thursday, September 27, 2018, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at The Park behind the Russell Senate Office Building to support Judge Kavanaugh and Chairman Grassley,” an announcement for the rally read.

Earlier this month, a woman, Christine Blasey Ford, came forward and accused the Supreme Court judge nominee of assaulting her while in high school. On Sunday, Sept. 23, The New Yorker reported that a woman, Deborah Ramirez, claimed Kavanaugh exposed himself to her while they were students at Yale during the 1983-1984 academic year.

From The Hill:

Deborah Ramirez accused Kavanaugh of exposing himself in front of her and causing her to touch his penis when she pushed him away during a party while the two were in college.

Since then, multiple other allegations have surfaced accusing Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior.

Kavanaugh has vehemently denied the allegations, claiming they are a “smear, plain and simple.”
