A man with a gun caused Hoppin Elementary in Michigan to go under a lockdown as a precaution, as confirmed by the Three Rivers Police Department. Officers were dispatched to the area, said to be near Portage Avenue and Prutzman Street.
What happened?
On Facebook, the Three Rivers Police Department, through Three River Commerical-News, issued the following statement concerning the incident:
“On 6/7/18, officers were dispatched to the report of a man with a gun in the area of Portage Ave. and Prutzman. The local elementary school, Hoppin Elementary School, was locked down as a precaution. The subject and his weapon were located. The subject was lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail. A press release will be out shortly.”
According to MLive, the subject and his weapon were located; the suspect is currently in police custody and has been placed at the local St. Joseph County Jail.
