I’m His Friend

Morgan and Naomi try to save John’s life amid all the gunfire between the Clark group and the Vultures. Meanwhile, Althea is filming this all like it has a production team waiting in the wings to begin editing. Morgan implores her to put down the camera and help him. She comes to her senses and despite Alicia’s resting bitch face at the thought of trusting Naomi again, while Naomi and Morgan load John up in Althea’s truck in a race to save his life. Althea finds the fact she’s alive and the Clark kids got their story wrong more enjoyable than the fact they all survived a shootout.
Oh, and Morgan… maybe don’t bring along the kid who shot your friend Nick. Not all life is precious, that child is a dick.
You’re Holding On To Something That’s Gone

While the cheery flashbacks to a time when the Stadium was still intact are nice, playing with the color palette only makes me worry more about the fate of Madison than anything. Charlie (before killing Nick) asked the Clark’s for help, clearly playing on their good nature, and they bring Mel into the camp under the assumption he needed medical help. Turns out he really did.
Mel tells Madison and Naomi that their groups’ plan was to make their camp fall no matter what and he doesn’t want their help, he just wants to leave before shit goes down. While Mel is trying to get out of his cuffs, he winds up recruiting Naomi to leave with him. He must think he’s a real smooth talker because if that guy had any clue how many cars this woman has hotwired just to run away from other people, he’d have known he already struck oil so time to stop drilling. One way or another she’s gonna bounce.

Madison kicks Mel out of the stadium but has Charlie stay. Charlie is worried about her pal and enlists Nick and Alicia to go after him… too bad this is all part of his plan to have the group lower their wall defenses and plow right through. The Vulture trucks unload hoards of hungry walkers right on Madison’s doorstep.
They said they would eventually be the reason their community falls. Well, they’ve succeeded. Alicia and Nick are still trapped outside the wall. Madison, Strand, and Luciana won’t leave them out there and the three make a desperate run for the kids truck. This can’t end well.
Althea, Morgan, Naomi, and a barely conscious John make it to the stadium to get medical supplies only to see what remains: a burnt overrun building with only walkers and death.
