Hennessy Carolina, born Hennessy Carolina Almanzar, has been seen on reality television. She has also been spotted on the red carpet alongside her sister, Cardi B. The social media star first appeared on Love & Hip Hop: New York before a stint on The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars.
Hennessy Carolina also played a role in her sister’s stage name.
While Hennessy was named after the liquor when her father showed up to her birth drunk, she gave Cardi B the nickname “Bacardi.” In order not to get sued by the liquor brand when she was coming up in the industry, Cardi B made a play on the name.
“My sister’s name is Hennessy, so everybody used to be like ‘Bacardi’ to me,” Cardi B said. “Then I shortened it to Cardi B. The ‘B’ stands for whatever, depending on the day…beautiful or bully. No one calls me Belcalis except for my family, my mother and my daddy.”
Hennessy attended fashion school at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and hoping to take her love of fashion to the next level. “My dream customer is every celebrity that’s on the red carpet. Everybody at the Met Gala and on top of that, just everybody and anybody. I would dress everybody,” she said.
