An unidentified female University of Tennessee student claims that she was raped last fall at an on-campus fraternity.
According to a criminal report made May 23, the rape was not reported to University of Tennesee police Police and no police report was created. Jillian Paciello, the Clery Act compliance coordinator and deputy Title IX coordinator for law enforcement for the UT Police Department, said that the victim did not identify a specific fraternity.
Furthermore, Jillian Paciello said that crime was reported to a university staff member who then reported it to a “campus security authority.”

Under the Clery Act, colleges and universities that take part in federal financial aid programs must track and make public campus crime statistics and security information, according to the Federal Student Aid Office under the U.S. Department of Education.
Designated campus security authorities are responsible for reporting qualifying crimes that took place on campus, in public places adjacent to campus and in certain non-campus buildings owned or leased by the school, UT’s website states.
Ashley Blamey, Title IX coordinator for the university, said she could not share details about the case, citing privacy rights that protect student information.
This is just the latest alleged on-campus rape that has been reported in the last couple of weeks, with similar incidents happening at MIT and the University of Nebraska.
