Rebecca Bisping is the wife of former UFC champion Michael Bisping. The Australian met Bisping in Manchester and the couple has three children — Lucas, Callum and Ellie. Their wedding went viral thanks to the presence of UFC announcer Bruce Buffer, who introduced the couple to their guests.
“The UFC Octagon warrior, who is now entering the true fighting arena of champions called marriage standing 6-1 and weighing in at whatever he wants,” Buffer joked when introducing Bisping.
He added: “Presenting… standing five feet six inches tall, she has trained for this day for 15 years, hailing from Adelaide, Australia; Rebecca!”
Michael and Rebecca became engaged in 2008, before finally tying the knot in 2014.
“She always had faith in me. I had nothing when I met her, and we had nothing for quite some time afterwards as well. But she always thought I’d be able to make something of myself,” Bisping recalled.
On Monday, May 28, 2018, Bisping officially announced his retirement from mixed martial arts after being finished in two consecutive fights.
“It ain’t worth it,” Bisping said on his “Believe You Me” podcast. “What else am I going to do? I won the belt, I’ve had tons of wins. I’ve done everything I set out to achieve.
“What’s the point of flogging a dead horse? Not that I’m a dead horse, but what’s the point? … I’ve used my platform to open other doors. You’ve got to know when to walk away. I’m almost 40 years old – the time is now.”
Now, he can enjoy more quality time with his family in California.
