Early Life
Craig was born on March 2, 1968, in Chester England. As a child, he often attended the local theater with his mother and sisters, which is where he credited falling in love with the thought of becoming an actor. At the age of 16, Daniel moved to London to join the National Youth Theatre, followed by him studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
1996-2001
While Craig received his first role in a film in 1992 in The Power of One, his first big break came when he got the role of Geordie Peacock in the British miniseries Our Friends in the North in 1996. After this, Craig received roles in various television series, such as Tales From the Crypt, The Ice House, and The Hunger, as well as a few films like Obsession, Love and Rage, and I Dreamed of Africa, but he put his name on the map when he starred in the 2001 hit movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
2005-Present
It was announced in 2005, that Craig would be next in the long line of James Bond actors. Although it was questioned by many at first, his debut Bond film Casino Royale which released in 2006 proved everyone wrong. Earning almost $600 million worldwide, it became the highest grossing Bond film ever. That is until a couple installments later when Skyfall released in 2012 generated $1.1 billion internationally. Craig followed this up with the 2015 release of Spectre, which upon release broke the UK’s record for the highest grossing film within seven days of its release, dethroning its predecessor in Skyfall. After being thrust into stardom upon the release of Casino Royale, Daniel’s movie career took off, receiving leading roles in films such as The Invasion, The Golden Compass, Cowboys and Aliens, Dream House, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and Logan Lucky.
In 2010, Craig began dating his Dream House co-star Rachel Weisz, and the two eventually married in 2011, marking Craig’s second marriage. He was formerly married in 1992 to Scottish actress Fiona Loudon. The two had a child named Ella but split in 1994. While age is beginning to play a factor in the roles he will be able to receive, Bond 25 has already been announced and is set to premiere in 2019. It has begun to be speculated that since Craig is now 50, his days as 007 may be numbered. While we are not sure what the future holds for him as far as playing James Bond goes, this could perhaps be the sendoff he needs, seeing as how it was recently announced in April that his wife Rachel (age 48) is pregnant with his child.
