Normani Kordei was one of the breakout stars at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. It all started backstage prior to a performance for the Fifth Harmony singer. When Normani was backstage preparing for her performance of “Love Lies” with Khalid, she bumped into former bandmate Camilo Cabello and the two publicly posed for a photo for the first time since Cabello left the girl group in December 2016.
Naturally, “Harmonizers” lost their minds when the photo surfaced.
Then, later in the night, Normani went onto the stage with Khalid to really bring down the house with an incredible performance. It marked Normani’s official breakout solo moment since Fifth Harmony — which includes Lauren Jauregui and Dinah Jane — decided to go on a hiatus so the singers could pursue their solo ventures.
Cabello also performed at the Billboard Music Awards, taking the stage to sing her No. 1 hit song “Havana,” before being joined onstage by Pharrell to perform their new single “Sangria Wine.”
