Lincoln Tunnel Bus Crash: Full Story & Must-See Details

Over a dozen people were injured after two buses collided exiting the Lincoln Tunnel in Manhattan. At this time, authorities believe that at least 32 people are being treated for various injuries sustained in the incident. The incident is believed to have taken place on the city’s west side on Dyer Avenue and West 40th Street around 10 A.M. local time.

What happened?

According to ABC 7, authorities with the New York City Fire Department confirmed the number of victims. During early reports of the story, all of the injuries were believed to be minor; it was later clarified that 25 people had minor injuries and seven people had moderate injuries.

The two buses were also believed to be New Jersey Transit buses. Both buses drove out of the tunnel to the New York side, at which point the passengers were evaluated. During the incident, the Lincoln Tunnel remained open, although some buses to the Port Authority Bus Terminal were believed to be delayed.


What are officials saying?

On Twitter, the New York City Fire Department confirmed that they believe none of the injuries were life-threatening:

“#FDNY members are on scene of a motor vehicle accident involving 2 buses in the Lincoln Tunnel. Currently there are 32 non-life-threatening injuries reported”
