Alison Brie is an American actress best known for her role as Annie Edison in the comedy series Community, Trudy Campbell in the AMC drama series Mad Men, and Ruth Wilder on Netflix’s comedy series Glow. Her work on Glow. earned her a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
Larson was born in Hollywood, California, where she began acting onstage at the Jewish Community Center in Southern California. She graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a bachelor’s degree in theater in 2005 and then studied for a time at Glasgow’s Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
In addition to her star turns on Community, Mad Men and Glow, Brie voices Diane Nguyen on the Netflix animated series BoJack Horseman and has starred in films, including Scream 4 (2011), The Five-Year Engagement (2012), The Lego Movie (2014), Get Hard (2015), Sleeping with Other People (2015), How to Be Single (2016), The Little Hours (2017), The Disaster Artist (2017), and The Post (2017). In 2018, Brie will reprise her role as Ruth Wilder on the second season of Netflix’s Glow.
Brie is famously married to Dave Franco, the actor and younger brother of James Franco. Brie and Franco began dating in 2012 after meeting at a 2011 Mardi Gras party in New Orleans. The couple became engaged in 2017 and got married on March 13, 2017.
