Its graduation season, and with graduation season, comes Commencement Speech season. Actors, politicians, CEOs, musicians, artists, even Presidents (I saw President Obama speak at my Rutgers University graduation, no big deal) make their way to various universities across the nation in an effort to impart lasting wisdom on America’s future.

Not all graduating classes are so lucky, though, as years upon years of graduates have been forced to sit through speeches that were given by obscure doctors and businessmen. Others (like myself, who saw the President speak, NBD), however, were lucky enough to see someone like Batman.

Michael Keaton — the ORIGINAL Batman, the Bruce Wayne actor who got the Bat Craze in America started — was the speaker at this year’s Kent State University & gave those lucky kids a speech to remember.

While most speakers choose to leave the graduating class with an inspirational or sentimental quote, Keaton decided to sign off with something far more self-aware.

“I’ve got two words that I want you all to remember. They’re very important, and if I leave you with anything, I’m going to leave you with these two words. And those two words are: I’m Batman,” Keaton said before signing off.

And just like that, the 2018 Kent State graduating class was given a memory they’ll never forget. Well played, Batman.
