Catherine “Kate” Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is a member of the British royal family who is married to Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge. Prince William is expected to become king of the United Kingdom and of 15 other Commonwealth realms, making Catherine a likely future queen consort. Kate Middleton has a younger sister, Pippa, and a younger brother, James.
Middleton met Prince William in Scotland at the University of St Andrews, where she studied art history, in 2001. The couple’s engagement was announced in November 2010 before they got married on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey. The Duke and Duchess’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis of Cambridge are third, fourth, and fifth in the line of succession, respectively.
In 2012 and 2013, she was selected as one of the “100 Most Influential People in the World” by Time magazine. Kate and Prince William have three children together: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis of Cambridge.
