Kristine Leahy rose to stardom thanks to her gig on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. Never one to bite her tongue, Leahy would often challenge Cowherd’s statements and opinions by bringing counter-arguments of her own. Oh, yeah, and she’s beautiful. It’s not hard to understand why Leahy developed the following that she has and now she is set to leave The Herd for a brand new afternoon show that is set to launch on FOX Sports 1.
Leahy’s new show is expected to premiere in the late summer or early fall.
“I’m really excited. I’m going to be having a new show, at the end of the summer beginning of the fall, I’ll be hosting it. But I just think that this is crazy, that this is happening, what we started. I’m going to lose it, I promised I wouldn’t lose my beep on this, but I will,” she said during an on-air announcement about her future. “We started, we were kind of this new thing at FS1, and I remember that lunch that we had together, and you took a huge risk, cause this was your show, you hadn’t had this role before. But now you do, and that was a risk, and I just can’t thank you enough.”
Leahy, who was born in Chicago, Illinois, began her career in sports media with WEEI in Boston after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism at Boston University. She then took on the position of official reporter for the Boston Celtics’ official website. Leahy then parlayed that gig into a job with FOX Boston, before joining Cowherd’s show to provide a female voice in sports talk radio.
The 31-year-old also serves as a sideline reporter for American Ninja Warrior on NBC.
