Backlash 2018 has happened and there are some questions left behind for the SmackDown Brand. We also start to look forward to Money in the Bank. What did Sunday’s event mean for the title picture on the blue brand? Who is going to go after gold immediately, or opt to get into the MITB match and take that path to glory?

Tonight’s card is already stacked with MITB qualifiers. US Champion Jeff Hardy will be taking on The Miz for the chance to be in the upcoming MITB Ladder Match. The Miz looks to get back into the Champions inner circle by winning the coveted briefcase but has a tall order with Hardy. Hardy might want to keep one eye open during the match since he defeated Randy Orton to retain his title at Backlash, and we all know what Orton has the propensity of doing out of nowhere…
Charlotte Flair suffered a surprising loss against Carmella at Backlash. The Princess of Staten Island took advantage of a hurt knee and pinned The Queen. Well, Charlotte gets a chance to flip the script on Carmella with her qualifying match for the women’s MITB match tonight. But there’s an extra plus side to this match, it’s against Peyton Royce, one half of The IIconics and one of the biggest reasons Carmella was able to defeat Charlotte in the first place. Will Charlotte get revenge and a chance to fight for the briefcase?
Daniel Bryan comes off a big win against Big Cass at Backlash and looks to overcome another big man to earn a spot in the MITB match. He will take on the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev. Bryan has proved that he can turn a man’s size against him but Rusev also has Aiden English in his corner, and we already know that Big Cass has become a fan of beating down Bryan regardless if Bryan is in another match or not. Will the crowd be chanting YES! or will it be a glorious Rusev Day!
What will Samoa Joe have to say after coming up short against Roman Reigns at Backlash? He has been tearing The Big Dog to shreds in promos for weeks and ended up getting pinned. Granted it took a few spears to put the big man down he still came up with the L. How will he respond, and will he still be coming for AJ Styles WWE Championship?
We also will get to see what AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura have to say to each other. Nakamura has spent the better part of the last month punching Styles in the groin. You’d think Styles nether regions was a pinata filled with a million dollars with how intensely and often he has been attacking it. What was the Backlash culmination? The two kicking each other in the crotch at the same time so hard neither could continue… yay World Championship! After losing three straight title matches, does Nakamura really deserve another match? We’ll see what he has to say.
