Minecraft who? World of Warcraft who? Call of Duty who? Fortnite, one of the most popular video games in the world right now, has taken over. People of all ages from a variety of backgrounds have joined the frenzy. With over 45 million users, even celebrities are becoming wrapped up in this epic universe. It’s possible you may have encountered a couple without even realizing it! Let’s take a look at which famous people have caught Fortnite Fever.
Drake
The rapper is probably the most well-known A-list player. He’s a Fortnite addict and he’s used to breaking records on Twitch with Fortnite star, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. Drake is currently working on his new album, and since the game has become such a presence in his life recently, he’s toying with the idea of sampling Fortnite in a couple of new songs. There’s a strong possibility he’ll swap a Fortnite verse for a Hotline Bling emote, and fans couldn’t be more excited.
Travis Scott
Scott’s known for many things. He’s a rapper, songwriter, and producer. Not to mention, he’s the boyfriend of the very famous Kylie Jenner. Scott’s also known to be obsessed with Fortnite. In March of this past year, he was partly responsible for breaking a HUGE HUGE HUGE record for the game. It all started when Tyler “Ninja” Blevins assembled a supergroup like no other. The group included Drake (of course), NFL player JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Travis Scott. Together, they broke the record for the most-viewed stream by a single player. At its peak, the stream hit 628,000 viewers.
JuJu Smith-Schuster
Yes, he’s the wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but what’s even more exciting is that JuJu Smith-Schuster is an avid Fortnite player. He also has a Youtube channel with 494,000 subscribers and counting. Recently, he posted a video where he took his Fortnite crew to the Adidas store in Santa Monica and spent over $20,000. Whether it’s on the football field or an online battlefield, it’s obvious JuJu is very much a team player.
Chance The Rapper
Chance is but another rapper that has fallen under the Fortnite spell. He tweeted back in February at Nintendo of America, asking if the game could be made available on Switch. Fans were in high support of this. So come on, Nintendo, get on that.
Roseanne Barr
We all did a double take when Roseanne tweeted back in February that she had 20 Fortnite victory royale wins. The comedian and sitcom star tweeted this relatively close to the air date of her reboot so is this just her acting cool and relevant to gain the viewership of a wider audience or is this the real deal? Let’s hope the latter because if so, Roseanne just became that much cooler.
Joe Jonas
DNCE Singer and ex-boyband performer Joe Jonas not only admitted to playing Fortnite on Twitter, but he also posted his handle for all the world to see as to recruit players for his team. CrackedPig8153, I volunteer as tribute.
Finn Wolfhard
You know him as the love interest of Eleven on the Netflix series, Stranger Things. On the show, he plays Mike Wheeler who, along with his nerdy friends, is obsessed with all things video games. Apparently, this carries over into real life because Finn Wolfhard is a frequent player of Fortnite, and he’s pretty good at it. He plays with his brother and he’s been known to chat with fans.
There are a few other names that may sound familiar like former Saturday Night Live cast member, Norm MacDonald, Los Angeles Laker Josh Hart, and Youtubers Jake and Logan Paul who too have surrendered themselves to the seemingly irresistible game. So which celebrities will succumb next? I’m sure we’ll find out soon. The celebrity Fortnite wave seems to be growing in size, and it doesn’t look as though it will be crashing anytime soon.
