The second round of the NBA playoffs has had its fair share of surprises., One is the Cleveland Cavaliers up 3-0 on the best team in the East this past season, the Toronto Raptors. Then there’s the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics. This series has been a slugfest, and for the first three games, Boston has had the last laugh. Tonight’s game four could decide the series or could be the first game of what would be a miraculous comeback story.
There’s no doubt that basketball pundits and fans were foaming at the mouth for a possible series between Philly and Boston. Two of the best the Eastern Conference to offer, everyone knew this would be a series that wouldn’t fall short of expectations.
In the first game of their best of seven, the Celtics took advantage of a well-rested Sixers squad who hadn’t played in six days after defeating the Miami Heat in five games. Boston’s Terry Rozier and Jason Tatum shut down Philadelphia’s sensational rookie Ben Simmons on their way to a 117-101 victory. Game two in Boston came down to the wire as the teams fought tooth and nail to try to have the advantage as the series was ready to shift to the City of Brotherly Love. The Sixers would end up blowing a 22-point lead as the Celtics kept home-court advantage with a wild 108-103 win.
This past weekend, game three took place in Philadelphia. It looked like the 76ers were on the verge of getting back into the series. Instead, coaching mistakes and confetti raining down at the most inopportune time led to Boston coming from behind more than once, ending in Al Hofford’s go-ahead bucket to win in overtime 101-98. The win, put the Celtics one victory away from the Eastern Conference Finals and put the Sixers on the brink of elimination.
Philly and Boston have put on a wonderful showdown, and game four should be no different. Check below and find out how you can watch the game on your TV, PC, tablet or mobile device.
