Jurnee, whose full name is Jurnee Sianei, wasted no time emerging as one of the standout talents on the “American Idol reboot airing on ABC. She wowed judges with Andra Day’s “Rise Up” during her audition, before continuing to shine throughout Hollywood week. Jurnee reached the Top 24 and easily made her way through to the Top 7 which kicks off on Sunday, May 6.
In the Top 24, Jurnee sang Jessie J’s “Flashlight and performed a duet with Lea Michele singing, “Run To You.” After advancing to the Top 14 Jurnee performed Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang,” but that was not enough to reach the Top 10 until the judges put her through following the performance of “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman.
Once in the Top 10, Jurnee cruised through with her rendition of “How Far I’ll Go” from the Disney movie Moana.
Jurnee is currently married to her wife, Ashley, who serves in the United States Army and is currently deployed overseas. The couple previously announced their engagement on social media.
“The girl of my dreams made me her fiancé. I’m so in love baby, and we still have forever to go,” Jurnee wrote.
Jurnee is currently 18 years old and began singing at the age of 2.
