Early Years
John Burke Krasinski was born on October 20, 1979 in Newton, Massachusetts. His first start in the acting industry wasn’t until he hit high school where he played the starting role in his school play. After graduating high school, Krasinski decided to take a semester off and teach English in Costa Rica. The following semester he attended Brown University were he studied playwriting as an honors student. During his last summer in college in 2000, Krasinski interned on Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

It wasn’t until 2002 where Krasinski got his big screen debut finding small roles such as “Ben” in Kinsey (2004) and “Corporal Harrigan” in Jarhead (2005). His bigger roles came in during the year 2005 where he was everyone’s favorite paper salesman in The Office for 8 seasons. He made an estimated amount of $125 per episode. He also co-directed three episodes in various season, “Sabare”, “Lotto”, and “The Boat”.
He had a small role in Shrek the Third (2007) as the voice of “Lancelot”. His big role came in 2007, where he co-started in Licensed to Wed with Mandy Moore and Robin Williams. He also starred in movies like Leatherheads (2007), Monster vs. Aliens (2009) and Something Borrowed (2011)
His directing work grew in 2009, he directed and wrote Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. After that film he went onto writing and directing The Hollars in 2016 and eventually today’s big horror name, A Quite Place (2018). Not only did he get to write and co-direct the movie, but he stared as the father of the family, along side his real life wife, Blunt, who played the mother. The movie earned one of the biggest box office standings for horror in the first two weeks of being released.
In his personal life, Krasinski met his current wife and mother to his children, Blunt, in 2008. They were engaged in 2009 and later married in 2010. Together, they have two daughters, Hazel (4) and Violet (2).
Krasinski is currently working on the second season of the Amazon Prime show Jack Ryan. However, the first season has not yet been released but has been renewed for a second season thanks to Krasinski’s success in his horror film, A Quiet Place. The first season is set to release in August later this year.
