For the second time in the promotion’s history, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is heading to Hamburg, Germany for UFC Fight Night 134: Volkan vs. Shogun at Barclaycard Arena. In the main event, light heavyweight contenders Volkan Oezdemir and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua are set to do battle. The co-main event is not officially slated at this time, though a heavyweight contest between Stefan Struve and Marcin Tybura would be a leading candidate.
Volkan vs. Shogun was initially expected to take place as the co-main event at UFC Fight Night 129 in Santiago, Chile. However, due to a previous legal issue, Oezdemir faced visa issues which restricted his travel to Chile and was ultimately pulled from the event.
Other fighters appearing on the card are Marc Diakiese, Vitor Miranda, Darko Stošić, and Jeremy Kimball.
Additional bouts for the event are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
