The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be making its debut in Utica, New York on June 1, 2018 for UFC Fight Night 131: Rivera vs. Moraes at Adirondack Bank Center. The event will be headlined by a bantamweight clash between top contenders Jimmie Rivera and Marlon Moraes. In the co-main event, lightweights Gregor Gillespie and Vinc Pichel will go head-to-head.
Bryan Barberena was initially slated to be on the card, but he was forced to withdraw due to an injury. Ben Saunders stepped up to replace Barberena and will now face Jake Ellenberger on the main card which airs on FOX Sports 1.
Another shakeup took place on the preliminary card — also airing on FOX Sports 1 — when Leonardo Santos was forced to withdraw from his bout with Nik Lentz due to a hand injury. There is currently no word on a potential replacement for Santos in the lightweight bout.
