Letitia Wright is a shining star at only 24 years old, having starred in Black Panther, one of the highest grossing films to date. Born October 31, 1993, in South Africa, Wright and her family made the move and she grew up in London as a child. From there, she pursued her education and ambition in acting, making appearances in the AMC series Humans, the Netflix smash hit Black Mirror, and most notably joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the brilliant young Wakanda scientist Shuri.
Wright is extremely vocal about her personal battle with depression and how embracing Christianity helped her take the leap towards more ambitious roles, such as Shuri. Say what you want about young actors, Letitia is a stunning example of breaking the mold and remaining grounded in such an overpowering industry.
In 2015, she received the honor of being awarded the “BAFTA and Burberry Breakthrough Brits”. The sky is the limit for this young actress and hopefully, this is just the beginning of a bright future.
