Amelia Vega, 33, is a Dominican actress, singer, model, and beauty queen. She became the first Dominican woman to be named Miss Universe, in 2003. She was also just 18 at the time, making her the youngest winner since 1994.
Vega is also the wife of Boston Celtic’s starting center Al Horford. Vega kicked off the new year in 2018 by announcing she was pregnant with the couple’s third child. She broke the big news with a clever little pun alongside her family on Instagram. In the picture, she’s holding her daughter Alia, 1, and standing next to her son Ean, 2, who’s being held in his dad’s arms.
On top of her career in entertainment, Vega is also a successful business owner. She owns two Boutiques in Miami, where she resides, named “Essence By Amelia Vega.” She’s also involved with several charity foundations, such as, Go Red For Women, Inisiatica Ser (Breast Cancer) Global Health Council, Cable Positive, amfAR, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and God’s Love We Deliver.
Her husband’s Celtics are entering the playoffs this weekend where they will take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the 7-seed Milwaukee Bucks. Horford will need all the family support he can get, as it’s looking like he’ll be tasked with defending the 6’11 “Greek Freak”.
Well, if all else fails, at least you have Amelia to go home to.
