The critically acclaimed series The Handmaid’s Tale is back for a second season on Hulu, premiering April 25, 2018. All 13 episodes will be available to stream.
According to Rotten Tomatoes,
The Emmy-winning drama series returns with a second season shaped by Offred’s pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead. “Gilead is within you” is a favorite saying of Aunt Lydia. In Season Two, Offred and all our characters will fight against — or succumb to — this dark truth.

What To Expect From Season 2
In the much anticipated second season of Margret Atwood’s adaptation of the best-selling novel, The Handmaid’s Tale, we can expect full blow revolution. With Season 1 ending on a wave of resistance, Season 2 will pick up where that momentum brought us. Also explored this season will be the lives our Handmaids’ had before civilization fell and what is ultimately left of the world they once knew.
This wider look at the world goes beyond the scope of what was covered in Atwood’s novel, so we’re treading into new and dangerous territory. If you thought the first season was rough, the second season promises to be much darker. We’re going inside ‘The Colonies’ where Handmaid’s who are deemed volatile or no longer able to bear children are sent to work. As if their lives were going so well before, right?
It goes without saying, resistance is often met with brutality. I worry for June/Offred and the others, because this season looks to rack up waaayyy more casualties than the first! We’ll find out April 25th, but until then just remember, “Gilead is within you.”
