Nicolle Rochelle has been identified as the topless protester who charged at Bill Cosby as he was entering a Philadelphia courtroom for his retrial on Monday, April 9. According to reports, Rochelle leaped over a barricade and launched toward Cosby but was stopped by sheriff’s deputies. She was taken into custody in handcuffs.
Photos from the scene show that Rochelle had “Women’s Lives Matters” and the names of the alleged victims written in red ink on her chest, stomach and back. There is no word what Rochelle is being charged with at this time.
Opening arguments for Cosby’s retrial were scheduled to begin on the morning of Monday, April 9. His first trial ended last spring after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict after five days of deliberations. Cosby, the 80-year-old who was once considered “America’s Dad”, faces three counts of aggravated indecent assault, each punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Cosby maintains that the sexual contact was consensual.
According to Page Six, Rochelle’s IMDB page (credited as Nicole Leach) says she appeared alongside Cosby in minor roles on The Cosby Show between 1990 and 1992. Her IMDB page also says she has had minor roles on on Chappelle’s Show, Law & Order and NYPD Blue.
