Three men in their early twenties have been charged after an unidentified 22-year-old University of Alabama student was sexually assaulted after leaving a Tuscaloosa, Alabama bar. While two of the charged men were arrested and have been released on bond, the third suspect is still being sought.
Alabama authorities have charged Terry Murphy Jr., 21, Adarious Smith, 21, and Deonte Steven Hill, 24, with first-degree rape. Murphy and Smith were arrested on April 5 and posted bond soon after. Tuscaloosa County authorities do not release mugshots once a suspect has been released from the jail.
According to Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Captain Kip Hart, the victims contacted authorities on March 29, telling investigations she left the area of the High Tide Bar with the suspects who she thought was going to take her home.
The victim told police that when she and the three suspects passed her residence, they told her they were going to “continue to party.” She was then taken to another location where the suspects took her into the bedroom and all three allegedly had non-consensual sex with her.
At this time, police are still looking for Hill and are asking anyone with information about him to call law enforcement.
That is all the information available at this time. This post will be updated if more information becomes available.
