It seems that every other day, some brand new kid singer becomes a viral sensation on social media, but did you ever expect yodeling would make a comeback through one of these kids. Yet, a 10-year-old boy named Mason Ramsey became a living meme when he surprised Walmart shoppers by breaking out into song at a store in Harrisburg, Illinois. Fortunately, someone had the good sense to film Ramsey, immortalizing him as “Walmart boy” or “Walmart kid,” for all of the internet to enjoy.

From his boots to his bow tie, you know he was destined for fame and fortune!

As you can see in the above video, Ramsey was dressed for success, complete with a red bow tie, a belt and black cowboy-style boots. Originally posted on Twitter, the video, which had been filmed late last March was retweeted over 50,000 times. A longer version of Ramsey singing at the store was also released on ViralHog. In case you are not a music savant, the song Ramsey is singing is “Lovesick Blues;” he also goes into “Jambalaya (On The Bayou),” both of which are Hank Williams songs, in the full video.

As mentioned, the video quickly became something of a meme, with people already creating their own mashups featuring Ramsey with other performers.

Other preferred mixing the song up with some appropriate dancing.

Who is Mason Ramsey?

According to The Huffington Post, Ramsey is a native of Golconda, Illinois and was 10 years old at the time of the video.

According to Thrillist, this is not the first time he was spotted singing at a Walmart, which almost makes you think they are trying out a new greeting system; his singing also once got him invited to perform on local radio station Beaver 100.3 FMin Clarksville, Tennessee.

Since becoming a star online, Ramsey has released a few follow-ups to the Walmart video. As seen above, he was recorded singing “Hey Good Lookin,” another Hank Williams song, that was filmed at the Beaver 100.3 FM station. Returning to the platform that made him a star, the following video has him singing the same song, also in a store, this time wearing a cowboy hat, has been passed around on Twitter.
