Former England Football Captain Ray Wilkins Passes Away At 61-Years-Old

Ex-England football captain and Aston Villa assistant manager Ray Wilkins has died at the age of 61. During his playing career, Wilkins played for some of the world’s biggest clubs, making 179 appearances for Chelsea, 160 appearances for Manchester United, and 73 appearances for AC Milan. Wilkins reportedly died of cardiac arrest.

During his playing career, Wilkins was a key midfielder for the England national football team during the 1980s. On the club level, Wilkins had successful runs at many top clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Milan, Queens Park Rangers, and Rangers.

Following his career as a professional footballer, Wilkins worked as a television pundit, and as a coach and manager with Queens Park Rangers, Fulham, Chelsea and Jordan. His last coaching job was as the assistant manager of Aston Villa.

Wilkin’s son Ross, 36, told The Mirror: “Dad has unfortunately passed away.”


Ray Wilkins Cause of Death: Cardiac Arrest

One week after suffering a heart attack in his home, Wilkins died of Cardiac Arrest at the hospital.
