March Madness has moved into April and only two teams are left: Jay Wright’s Villanova Wildcats and John Beilein’s Michigan Wolverines. The NCAA championship game will be broadcast on TBS and will stream on March Madness Live as well. Tipoff is at 9:20 p.m. ET.
Villanova pummeled a worthy opponent in Kansas this weekend. They went 18-40 from beyond the arc. I repeat, 18-40 from three. Everyone on Villanova’s squad can shoot and they’ve been absolutely ON as of late in the tourney. Many think Villanova’s an unbeatable juggernaut in this championship matchup against Michigan.
Michigan’s Final Four win was less one-sided but certainly impressive. They were able to curtail a red-hot Loyola team (backed by a ferocious nun in a wheelchair #SisterJeanScaresMe), overcome a 7-point halftime deficit, and eventually win the game by a convincing score of 69-57.
Not many experts are giving the Wolverines a shot in this title game. But, as every college fan knows, anything can happen when everything’s on the line. I expect this last game in April to be as unpredictable as what we saw in March.
